Attempted robbery at Chebuco Road store last night

On 20101101 @  11:58 pm the HRP responded to a weapons call in the 7100 block of Chebucto Road, Halifax. A male suspect  had entered a store and attempted to produce a knife against a male cashier but the victim grappled the suspect to the floor and left the store. The suspect fled the scene and was followed by a witness to a  nearby address on Quinpool Road where  police were alerted.  HRP members set up containment around a building and the suspect exited and surrendered himself to police without incident. The integrated HRP/RCMP GiS were called to the scene and the  matter is still under investigation.

A 43 year old Halifax man was taken into custody and will face weapons related charges.
