At 1:08 am Halifax Regional Police responded to a 911 call that seven persons had been ATV’ing since 7:00 pm and were now lost with low fuel, and low cell phone batteries.
Initial GPS coordinates showed the persons were in the Bear Point/ Ragged Lake area. Halifax Ground Search and Rescue were called out. It was learned throughout the night the group had separated trying to find their way to safety. Eventually all seven persons regrouped and made their way to a cabin on German’s Island and started a wood stove fire. Ground Search and Rescue members eventually located the cabin and seven persons. At 5:39 am Ground Search members arrived back at the Command Post with the seven lost persons. They were checked by EHS as a precaution.
