Huskies Ties Series With Dramatic Comeback

The Saint Mary’s Huskies overcame a 3-0 deficit tonight at the Forum to defeat the Saint Francis Xavier X-Men and even the best of five AUS semi final series at one game a piece

Lucas Bloodoff, Mike Danton, Chris Mackinnon, and David Macdonald scored for the Huskies in the final thirty minutes to propel Saint Mary’s to victory and give the defending CIS champions home ice advantage for the remainder of the series.

Game 3 in this intriguing series will be Tuesday night from the Forum at 7:00.

Acadia Takes Care of Business, Moves on To AUS Championships

Despite losing 10 of 12 games in 2011 before this weekend, the Acadia Axemen are off to the Subway AUS Men’s Basketball Championships.

Acadia swept the Memorial Seahawks in two games to garner eight points in the standings and earn a trip to the Metro Centre as the number four seed. The Axemen will play the UNB Varsity Reds on Friday night at 6:00 in the quarter finals. At 8:00 approximate will be the highly anticipated match up of the Saint Francis Xavier X-Men versus Joey Haywood and the Saint Mary’s Huskies.
