Awake: Goodnight

Awake: Goodnight I’m finished with Awake. Home sick tonight (I had to bail on Titanic 3D, which means I am very sick) I thought I’d try and catch up on the three episodes of Awake I had stacked up on my DVR.

Zzzzzzz.

Twenty minutes later, I realized I was much more engrossed in chronicling my every sneeze on Twitter than I was the actual show.

Here’s the thing: There are aspects of Awake I’m still intrigued by. I like the initial premise of a guy torn between two worlds. I like the hints we’ve gotten about how someone might be behind this. I like the details that bleed over from one world to another.

I don’t like that it is, essentially, a procedural. I get bored with procedural dramas – the only one I’ve ever really liked is Dexter, which is much edgier than your typical CSI or NCIS or ABCDEFG or whatever. House is basically a procedural, and I tired of that too. I’d hoped Awake would keep my attention but I just Got. So. Bored. And with a busy TV schedule, I can’t waste time on shows that don’t grab me.

What about you guys? Any of y’all still watching Awake? Is there a reason you’re still tuning in?
