Baddeck RCMP investigates forestry accident that claimed the life of a 54-year-old Little Narrows man.
On July 28, 2015 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Baddeck RCMP responded to a call of an overdue forestry worker in the Little Narrows area.
The man was working alone operating a logging skidder. RCMP activated Ground Search and Rescue who were was assisted by RCMP Police Dog Service along with members of the Iona Volunteer Fire Department and staff from a nearby mining site. Shortly after midnight this morning the man was found deceased near the logging equipment.
The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s office and the Department of Labour and Advanced Education were contacted.
The cause of death is not considered suspicious at this time by the RCMP. The investigation into the cause of death is continuing.
