On Saturday, February 1st, Baddeck RCMP responded to a snowmobile accident on a groomed trail on Hunter Mountain in Victoria County, Cape Breton.

At approximately 12:45 p.m., RCMP responded with assistance from Emergency Health Services and found an injured 41 year-old male from Mira Gut, Cape Breton. The injured snowmobile driver was transported to Cape Breton Regional Hospital, however he succumbed to his injuries the next day.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
