B&E At Prince Arthur Junior High, Smelly Weed Gets Driver Arrested

The perils of smoking weed in your car: A man was arrested, and two youth released into parental custody after a B&E in two separate incidents.

At approximately 1145 pm police stopped a vehicle on Cranberry Crescent in Dartmouth, the lone occupant of the vehicle had a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle and the accused found a quantity of illegal drugs and a loaded handgun. The 25 year old driver faces weapons charges under the Criminal Code of Canada as well as charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, he is being held in custody for  Dartmouth Provincial Court on Monday.

At approximately 0100 am police responded to an alarm call at Prince Arthur Junior High, 85 Prince Arthur Avenue, Dartmouth.  On arrival at the school police noticed a window was smashed out. A short distance away police found two 15 year old youth attempting to hide from police. A follow up investigation revealed that one of the youth had entered the school and stole a small amount of stationary supplies. The youth were charged  with Mischief and  Break and Enter under the Criminal Code of Canada. The youth were released into the custody of a parent.
