Shortly after 4:30 this morning Halifax Regional Police received a 911 call to an address on Lakecrest Drive in Dartmouth.  

The homeowner advised that someone had broken into his house and that the suspect had a handgun.  The homeowner fought with the suspect and was able to get the firearm from him.  This suspect fled the scene.  

There were no injuries during the incident.  At the time police were able to locate another male suspect in a vehicle and he is currently in custody.  Shortly after 3PM this after noon the second male suspect was taken into custody without incident.  Both parties are going to be charged with numerous offences.  The investigation is still underway.  All parties involved are in their early 20's.  This was not a random act.  The suspects and victim are known to each other.
