Barrington RCMP Investigate Fatal Collision

Barrington RCMP is currently investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision in North East Point, Cape Sable Island, Nova Scotia.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. last night, Barrington RCMP, EHS and the Barrington Passage Fire Department responded to a report of a fatal collision on Highway 330 in North East Point.
A preliminary investigation has determined a 1-ton cube van and a small car were involved in an apparent head-on collision. The sole occupant of the car, a 43-year-old woman from the Barrington area, died at the scene as a result of her injuries. The driver and two passengers in the cube van were not injured. No charges are anticipated as a result of this incident.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist analyzed the scene. Highway 330 was closed to traffic during the  examination and was re-opened at 1:45 a.m. this morning.

Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this difficult time.
