Friday, Aug. 26, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists of a multi-week project about to get underway to refresh street, sidewalk and lighting infrastructure on Barrington Street, between Duke Street and Spring Garden Road.
Beginning on Sunday, Aug. 28, and continuing for approximately eight weeks, various sections of Barrington Street between Duke and Spring Garden Road will be closed to vehicular traffic on Sunday to Thursday evenings. The closures will be in effect during the overnight hours only from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning.
During this work, crews will be working on street and sidewalk upgrades, asphalt paving, and repairs to existing street light bases. We will be providing weekly updates of the work area that will be affected during this project to provide advance notice to local residents, businesses and motorists.
For the week beginning Aug. 29, the evening and overnight street closure will be in place from Duke Street to Prince Street. Please note pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Motorists are advised to find alternative routes during this street closure.
The municipality regrets any inconvenience this work and associated street closure may cause.
