Friday, Sept. 2, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is reminding residents and motorists of a multi-week project underway to refresh street, sidewalk and lighting infrastructure on Barrington Street, between Duke Street and Spring Garden Road.
Over the coming weeks, various sections of Barrington Street between Duke and Spring Garden Road will be closed to vehicular traffic on Sunday to Thursday evenings. The closures will be in effect during the overnight hours only from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
During this work, crews will be working on street and sidewalk upgrades, asphalt paving, and repairs to existing street light bases. We will be providing weekly updates of the work area that will be affected during this project to provide advance notice to local residents, businesses and motorists.
For the week beginning Sept. 5, the evening and overnight street closure will be in place from Duke Street to Spring Garden Road. Please note pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Motorists are advised to find alternative routes during this street closure.
The municipality apologizes for any inconvenience this work and associated street closures may cause.
