Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that a section of Barrington Street in Halifax will be closed to vehicle traffic next week to facilitate the installation of new water and sewer pipes in the area.

Starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, Barrington will be closed between Green Street and Smith Street. Crews will reopen the street during peak traffic hours, if it is safe to do so. Otherwise that section of Barrington will remain closed until about 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14.

Motorists should expect delays when travelling in the area and are advised to use alternative routes, if possible. The municipality regrets any inconvenience this work or the closure may cause; however, it is required for public safety.
