Bayers Road Police Chase, Car Smashes Into Home

At 304 am a central member attempted to stop a vehicle for failing to stop for a red light at the Bayers Road and Connaught Street intersection.

The vehicle continued to be operated in a reckless manner and reached speeds  up to 80KM/H resulting in the termination of the pursuit.  Officers lost sight of the vehicle.  At 3:06 am we received a report of a vehicle crashing into a residence in the 2000-3000 block of George Dauphinee Ave.  This was the same vehicle and a 45 year old Halifax male was taken into custody.  He has serious but non-life threatening injuries.  He is currently in custody with officers at the QE II hospital.  Charges will include flight from police and numerous motor vehicle act violation.  Additional charges are likely.  Accident reconstruction and an identification unit were called to the scene.
