Bayers Road – Road Construction

Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents there will be significant traffic delays this weekend while crews complete asphalt milling on Bayers Road in Halifax between Highway 102 and Connaught Avenue.

This work will begin at 6 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, and continue until midnight. Work will resume at 6 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13, and continue again until midnight.

Crews will be working in both the inbound and outbound lanes over the two days, but only on one side of the road at a time. There will be lane drops in place and stop-and-go traffic throughout the weekend.

This work will also require all the traffic signals within the work zone to be temporarily shut off as the milling equipment moves through the intersections. Traffic control personnel will be on site to assist when the lights are out.

Motorists should expect long delays in the area while this work is underway and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible. The municipality regrets any inconvenience this road work may cause.
