Bedford man arrested for aggravated assault

Halifax Regional Police Central Patrol Officers have made an arrest in connection with a December assault in downtown Halifax.

On December 19 at 4 a.m. police were called to the 1800 block of Barrington Street in relation to an injured person.

Officers discovered a 26 year old male victim suffering from a serious laceration to his face after being assaulted by an unknown man in the pedway.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested a man without incident at 12:05 a.m. this morning at the West Division Office.

Nineteen year old Thomas Albert Acosta of Bedford is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of aggravated assault.
