Bedford teen in motor vehicle collision identified

Blake Neville MacKenzie, a passenger of a vehicle involved in a collision in Bedford, passed away on Thursday morning.

The incident occurred at 1:57 p.m. at the intersection of Duke Street and Damascus Road.

The Volkswagen Jetta, in which Blake was a passenger, turned into the path  a Chevrolet Blazer, and was struck.

The lone occupant of the Blazer was not injured. However, all three occupants of the Jetta were taken to hospital; Blake was  in critical condition.

The investigation by officers assigned to the HRP Accident Investigation Unit is on-going. Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who hasn’t spoken to police is asked to call 490-5016.
