“This group was started by two moms in Lower Sackville, each have a child on the spectrum.

They could not find social opportunities where their children could just be themselves. Somewhere for the kids to hang out with other kids just like them.

They met other parents who were all looking for a place to go as well. A place to just relax without having to deal with staring eyes from strangers & not have to explain anything to anyone.

The Bedford/Sackville Autism Support group began hosting regular meetings, swims, dances etc. We have also opened our doors to anyone within Halifax HRM. This support group has grown from the commitment of many.”
