Best Birthday Brunch!

Back in December, I whole heartedly agreed with the Prince George Hotel’s declaration that they had the best brunch in the city.  Have to say that I was pretty excited when my Mom suggested that we go back to celebrate my Father’s 50th birthday.

Fun fact:  My dad’s name is George.  Pretty fitting, eh?

As usual, we arrived a tad early. I love this shot, can you spot hubby causally posing?

My brother actually showed up shortly after us.  My Dad is always early too, guess I know where we get that from. 😉

While the boys chatted I took a quick tour of the hotel.  It’s pretty swanky!

Like I said, Dad also likes to be super early… my parents showed up a few minutes later.  We had a good 45 minute wait for the rest of the family.

I got some old pictures printed off at Costco, we had fun looking/laughing at those while we waited.

Me and the Fam.  Pretty sharp looking! 🙂

Hubby and I took a quick look out on the patio.

Then finally it was time to eat.  I was hungry and looking forward everything.  I’ll never regret upgrading to DSLR camera.   I can finally do justice to the beautiful spread of food offered at this brunch.

The Brunch Buffet is set up in main restaurant, Terrace.

Our table was all set up.

Note the pictures I was referring to earlier.   Fifty years worth of memories!

Vino was opened.

Our server was very attentive, offering us coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice.   No way I was turning down fresh OJ!  Mmm mmm!

Buffet time! I made several trips over the meal, five to be exact. Don’t judge! 😉

There was a pasta station.  Looked good but I wanted to try a variety of foods and didn’t want to fill up right away.

Lovely spreads of various salads, veggies, cheeses & smoked salmon.

Pretty marinated tomatoes & cheese. (No idea what kind, thinking mozza.)

Crusty bread.

My first plate included this fantastic flatbread – Prosciutto, Goat Cheese & Onion.

Along with a couple pieces of cheese, the tomatoes, smoked salmon and some yummy asparagus.

WineBenjamin Bridge Nova 7. My absolute fav!

Round two was a trip to the sushi station.

I selected a variety of rolls including spicy tuna, smoked salmon & cali.  With lots of pickled ginger and extra spicy mayo.

I let that settle and made the rounds with my camera.

Plate three was a lovely green salad with fresh berries, mandarin oranges & cherry tomatoes. I may have stolen the raspberries that were being used as a garnish on the cheese plate and added them to the salad. 😛

I followed hubby while he loaded up on breakfast foods.  There were omelette & waffle stations.  Meat stations that included roasted chicken & ribs.

Pastries, muffins and a variety of breakfast meats, potatoes & eggs benny.

Look at all this fresh fruit!!!!  I love honeydew and pineapple.

Plate four was loaded with melon and Eggs Benedict.

Sorta like a trip to Cora’s… only a million times tastier! 🙂

Last but not least, I browsed the Desserts.  There were so many to chose from.  Brownies, a peach cobbler type dish, tarts and more.

Along with cupcakes…

And angel food cake filled with fruit.

Pretty strawberry dish.

I allowed myself one dessert.  And you know that it was the chocolate carrot cake cupcake topped with cream cheese frosting!!!

Oh yeah,  little bit of heaven right here!  I could eat a whole dish of the frosting. 🙂

Was such a great afternoon celebrating Dad’s birthday!  The food was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic!  More importantly, I caught up with my family and some extended family – no blog appearance for them. Sorry Mom & Dad, but it’s too late for you, you’re blog superstars! Hehe 😉

Happy 50th Birthday to this wonderful man!!
