Birch Cove and Government Wharf beaches reopen to swimming

Friday, Aug. 21, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Birch Cove Beach at Lake Banook in Dartmouth, and Government Wharf Beach in Musquodoboit Harbour, have reopened for swimming.

Recent tests showed high bacteria levels in the water, but follow-up tests now show that the water is once again safe, as per Health Canada guidelines.
