Bishop Street – One-Way Street Conversion

Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Bishop Street in Halifax will become a one-way street between Hollis Street and Lower Water Street starting Monday, Oct. 5.

Crews will be on site early Monday to work on the changeover, including installing new traffic signs. Once the transition is complete, traffic on Bishop Street will flow east only, toward Lower Water Street.

This is a temporary change that will be in place for at least six months to accommodate work on The Alexander, a private development at the corner of Lower Water Street and Bishop. The public will be notified when the street reverts back to two-way traffic on that section.

Residents are advised to travel carefully through the area as people become familiar with the traffic change. The municipality thanks people for their patience and regrets any inconvenience this may cause.
