Black Friday is Even for Us Canadians

I used to live in the United States and part of the ritual of the Thanksgiving Weekend was Black Friday, getting up early and going shopping. When I returned home to Canada I missed it. This week one of the blogs I follow The Savvy Shopper from CouponCode4u had this wonderful infographic on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Well now the craze of Black Friday shopping is crossing the border as more and more retailers try and keep dollars in Canada, as well more and more shoppers are turning online.

For you who are Canadian do you shop in the states? if yes then you might want to check for coupons or best deals.

If you are shopping north of the border there are some great finds up here. The flyers are out online. There will also be many online deals to be found.

Here are some of my rules for a Sane Black Friday shop if you are going to the stores:

1. Have a plan. Check the flyers know what you want, make a list, check it twice. Try and avoid impulse buying if already out of

2. Bring a water bottle

3. Go Early. Late is not good.

4. Wear a smile, be kind.

If you are preparing to shop online do not forget to check for promo codes.

So my question is this, will you be shopping this weekend in store this weekend, online or are you letting it all pass you by?

A note this week’s #cdnmoney chat will be all about Black Friday. This twitter chat happens

* The infographic is a paid placement (sponsored post) but the reality is I was looking for just such an infographic to use when contacted by them. Nice, eh. Opinions are mine as always.
