Black Rock Beach closed to swimming

Monday, July 25, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Black Rock Beach in Point Pleasant Park is closed to swimming until further notice due to suspected high bacteria levels in the water.

Beach supervisors will test the water at the beach today to determine exact bacteria levels.

High bacteria levels can be caused by a number of naturally occurring factors, including weather conditions and waterfowl. The municipality will advise residents when the beach reopens.
