You may find yourself doing a double-take when strolling through Halifax this weekend, but that’s perfectly fine.
Hal-Con is back for another fun filled 3 day event, and it is big!
The first thing you will notice even before you get to the event will be enthusiastic costume-clad participants, increasing in numbers as you approach the venue.
Once inside, you will be blown away!
First, you will be treated to some incredible costumes representing sci-fi, horror, anime, and more.
Some costumes come straight from the imagination, maybe based on steampunk or video games, or a combination of genres.
Next are the sprawling vendor displays, some sporting interactive attractions such as video games, to comic books, clothing, jewelry and more. And in many cases, the vendors are just as into the costumes as everybody else.
Local artists also proudly display their work, including a “Z Isle” comic based on a post-apocalyptic zombie world which is created here in Halifax.
Seminar and workshops are also available, including many “how to” costume shops.
And of course, special meet and greet guests, including Director Skinner
(Mitch Pileggi) “X-Files.”
You are bound to enjoy your visit to this very entertaining trip into imagination.
