A unique opportunity to experience life on-board the Bluenose II sailing ship is available to the public.

The Bluenose II is offering Nova Scotians the chance to be a deckhand for a day aboard the ship. People will learn how to steer the ship, tie knots, keep watch and anchor the schooner.

The ship will depart at 8 a.m. and return at 5 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

A limited number of spaces are available for July 31. Cost is $495 per person. The Deckhand for a Day program is also offered Sept. 4.
