BMO Centre closed effective immediately for roof assessment

Tuesday, Mar. 24, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that BMO Centre will be closed effective immediately as a precaution to accommodate an ongoing assessment of snow load and drainage from the roof of the building.

A structural assessment of the building will be undertaken to determine if the building is safe to re-open for operation, as per standard procedures. Residents will be advised of the status of the building operation through a separate Public Service Announcement following the conclusion of the assessment.

Municipal recreation staff are working to find alternate arrangements for scheduled ice time at other facilities.

The municipality apologizes for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause, however the safety of residents and facility staff is our top priority.
