An independent Nova Scotia human rights board of inquiry in the case of Jennifer Smith and Javonna Borden v. Bob’s Taxi Limited and/or Aleksey Osipenkov is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Nov 25.
Ms. Smith and Ms. Borden allege that Bob’s Taxi Limited and/or Mr. Osipenkov, discriminated against Ms. Smith’s two children and Ms. Borden on account of their race and/or colour by refusing to provide them with service. Bob’s Taxi and Mr. Osipenkov deny any discrimination occurred.
The board of inquiry is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m., in the Valardo Room at Dartmouth Sportsplex, 110 Wyse Rd., Dartmouth. The board chair, Dennis James, is independent of the commission, which is representing the public interest at the inquiry.
