**** RCMP Media Release
With boating season upon us, Nova Scotia RCMP is reminding boat owners to secure their boats. Between June 1 and August 31 2018, Halifax District RCMP received reports of nine stolen outboard motors and six stolen boats.
Here are a few tips before leaving your boat:
It is important to check on your boat regularly and report anything missing as soon as possible. If you see suspicious activity, please let police know.
Another way to protect your property is through doing the 9 p.m. Routine. The 9 p.m. Routine is a campaign reminding residents to ensure their property is always locked and secured. Help spread the word using the hashtag #9PMRoutine and tagging RCMPNS on Twitter ( https://twitter.com/rcmpns )and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/rcmpns/ ) to let us know you’ve completed the routine.
