Bomb threat at Walmart Mumford

Update from HRP: Police have now re-opened the roadways surrounding Walmart Mumford. Walmart has informed us of their re-opening as well.

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a bomb threat that was received this morning in Halifax.

Just after 8:45 a.m., police responded to Walmart located at 6990 Mumford Road for a bomb threat after police received a threatening phone call from an anonymous caller. Officers are on scene and searching the area.

This building has been evacuated as a precaution and entrances to Walmart via Mumford Road and Chebucto Road are closed for the time being.

The investigation into this matter is continuing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at 902-490-5020.
