Book of Condolences available at City Hall for citizens of Orlando, Florida

Wednesday, June 15, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – Mayor Savage and members of Regional Council extend their sincere sympathies and support to the citizens of Orlando, Florida, in the wake of a tragic mass shooting incident last weekend.    In addition to a moment of silence held at yesterday’s Regional Council meeting, a book of condolences has been set up for public signatures in the main entrance of City Hall. Residents and visitors are invited to stop by to sign the book during the following dates and times:  Where: City Hall, 1841 Argyle Street, Halifax (Main Entrance Foyer)  When: Wednesday, June 15 to Friday, June 24, 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily The Mayor’s Office will arrange for the book of condolences to be sent to the City of Orlando on behalf of the municipality at a later date.   In support of the grieving LGBTQ2 community, the Pride flag is being flown at half-mast in Grand Parade, and City Hall is being illuminated in Pride colours each evening for the remainder of the week.  Source: Release
