Boost To Local Economy

The 2009 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships happening right now over in Dartmouth will create an estimated $10 million in economic spinoffs, including 260 jobs. Halifax Regional Municipality is playing host to over 70 countries and 1000 international athletes and coaches over the course of the Championships. More than $2 million has already been invested in the renovations to the course and lakefront. 2009 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships taking place between August 12 to 16 at the Racing Centre on Lake Banook in Dartmouth.
