Dear Friends of Bedford,

Over the past few months many of you have heard of the Bedford Residents Association through emails from our Board members and from the media. You have also told us what a wonderful idea it is to have an organization whose focus it is to see that Bedford maintains its identity and community spirit.

The Board chose to take the approach to serve the residents and not be a political watchdog. The reality is that this approach does not make for good press and many of you ask “what’s in it for me”?

Through the process of our survey many of you told us that Bedford is lacking a Multi-Use Facility. A Community Center. An Art’s, Music and Cultural Facility. In short you told us Bedford is lacking a Focal Point. We agree with you; however, we need your support in the terms of membership to work towards this cause and we also need to grow the membership to carry clout when we are presenting the membership’s views.

Supporting the BRA does not mean you have to serve on the Board or a sub-committee. It just means that you agree, in principal, with the Association’s Mission Statement “to strive to improve the quality of life for residents and encourage a sense of belonging and pride in our community.”

Strength comes in numbers. Without the support of you, the residents, we cannot move forward.

Please take the time to fill in the on-line survey at www.bedfordresidentsassociation.ca and pay your membership fee and then pass this request on to other Bedford residents you know.

Alternatively, the $10.00 membership fee can be paid by sending a cheque to 1600 Bedford Highway, Suite100-196, Bedford, N.S., B4A 1E8 or by calling one of the Board members for pickup.
