Bras, BBQ, Bakery and 5¢ Bags

La Vie En Rose is opening in part of the old Food Court in Halifax Shopping Centre.

There is a new indoor playground place going in Portland Hills.

The space beside Subway on Baker Dr. is going to be “Honey & Ginger” I think it’s a health food store, and the guys working there said it they saw a smoothie bar on the blueprints.

It looks like the Cheese Curds/Habaneros folks are up to something new
Billy Bobs East Coast BBQ” also recently converted the Gweilo Jr. trailer into a Halifax Donair Shop trailer.

Fall River Guardian Pharmacy is moving in the former Scotiabank.

Metro Deli on Young St. in the base of the Eastlink/Rogers building is going to be open evenings, and offering delivery.

Hooked (Fish Monger) should be open in a couple of weeks on Charles St (@ Agricola.)

Looks like “Seafarers Pub” is going in the former Emma’s spot in Eastern Passage.

Where Nauss Bikes was on Agricola will be Compass Distillers and include a boutique hotel, bar, retail and micro-distillery (Gin, Rum, Vodka)

In March, Superstore said they were discontinuing 10% off for students on Tuesdays in lieu of PCPoints, but they are still offering the %.And it looks like they are getting out of the video game business deep discounts on remaining games.

The Bedford Video Difference has closed Quinpool still continues out of business sale.

The new French bakery LF Bakery soft opened on Gottingen yesterday (@Falkland).

Amazon.ca quietly upped the minimum order for free shipping from $25 to $35 yesterday. In part to push their $79/yr Prime subscriptions which offer free 2day service on anything in their warehouse. Indigo/Chapters still at $25.

Cleve’s is having its warehouse sale at The Forum, Thursday through Sunday. The Paderno Forum sale is October 11-16

On a blog post earlier this week I talk about the future of the “Sobeys Bag” now that Walmart is going to start charging 5¢ starting October 17th.

Over at Eat This Town, our 2 Day South End Nacho results are posted.
