Briar Lane – Extended Street Closure

Wednesday, March 11, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Briar Lane in Halifax will be closed to pedestrians and traffic for an extended period to ensure the public’s safety during demolition work inside the old CBC Radio building at 5600 Sackville St.

Briar Lane, between Sackville and Annandale streets, will shut down starting at 7 a.m. on Friday, March 13, and remain closed to all traffic until 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 30. The street will not reopen on nights or weekends during that time.

Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency Services are aware of the closure and are able to access buildings in the area via Annandale Street, if an emergency should arise.

Motorists are encouraged to find alternative routes. The sidewalks along Sackville Street will remain open for pedestrians to detour around the closure. The municipality apologizes for any inconvenience this work may cause.
