Recently I caught a rerun of You Gotta Eat Here and it just so happened to be the episode where they visited The Armview right here in Halifax. One of the dishes they featured was their Haddock Burger, and after seeing how delicious the burger looked, I knew I had to pay a visit to this place, which I’ve discovered many people swear by!

Appearance (6.25/10)
At first glance, this burger didn’t really amaze me. It looked pretty simple in concept, and there were very few toppings involved. When I went in for a closer look, I saw all the seasoning in the breading, and I started to think that maybe there was more to this burger than meets the eye.
I also liked the big pile of fries, along with the coleslaw and pickle, which happen to be three of my favourite burger accompaniments!
Taste (7.5/10)
I am certainly glad that I did not judge this burger based on the appearance. It only took a couple of bites for me to realize how delicious the fish was. It was so tender and flaky that is was falling apart in my mouth. This awesome fish was even more improved by the flavourful batter that they coated it in. I really liked how it was lighter than most batters that I have encountered on fish, and the lack of heaviness really worked in its favour.
The amount of veggies on the burger was just right, but I would have liked more of the lemon dill tartar as I couldn’t really taste it in most bites.
Cost vs. What You Get (8.5/10)
The price tag on this burger is only a mere $10! This is an awesome price for such a great tasting burger. In fact, most of their menu items are priced on the lower end, so The Armview is a great choice for diners on a budget!
Overall (7.42/10)
Although beef burgers are #1 in my heart, I feel it’s only right to include all types of burgers. I’ve found that fish burgers can really be a hit or miss, but in the case of this haddock burger, it was a big hit! With the use of local fish, and a price that can’t be beat, this burger comes with the Life of Burgers seal of approval!
