Business fined for violating Health Protection Act

West Hants District RCMP has fined a business for violating the Health Protection Act.

At approximately 2:15 p.m. on May 6, police were notified that a personal service business was operating in Windsor contrary to public health restrictions. Police attended the business, and while the business owner went to great lengths to make it appear that she had closed, through investigation, police determined that the business was still operating. Police charged the business under the Health Protection Act for continuing to operate contrary to public health restrictions. The fine issued to the business was $11,622.50.

The RCMP is reminding everyone to follow all public health orders and municipal bylaws. We all need to do our part to reduce the spread of COVID-19. The RCMP would like to thank Nova Scotians for their continued support, and express appreciation to the vast majority who are adhering to the directives outlined by the provincial government.
