But Mommm: Kudos

Happy New Year!  It’s hard to believe that 2013 is upon us and as usual, the new year has arrived with a period of reflection for me. It’s hard to believe but the end of 2012 was actually the end of my second full year of writing these blogs for HRM Parent.
So today, rather than writing for parents, I’m going to switch things up and write a few words of thanks to the three owners of this website (surprise!) on behalf of all of the parents out there who interact with it.
The “new” owners of HRM Parent took hold of the site just over two years ago and since then, have transformed its look, added a pile of content and created Facebook, Twitter and Pintrest pages. Their commitment to us as parents is visible through the information they share, the frequency with which they update the web and social media sites and the relevance of the content that they post.
As a parent in this community, I would sincerely like to thank the team behind HRM Parent for everything that I have learned, identified with and attended thanks to the information that they share. Personally, I tune-in to the Weekend Wrap-Up every week and always get great ideas for things to do with our family on our days off. I love reading the daily blogs – particularly the nutrition advice and creative snack and lunch ideas. Although I freely admit that I’m not a ‘crafty’ person, I am always inspired to become one when I see the great ideas shared on the site.
The great things about HRM Parent don’t stop at the website. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching their Facebook likes and Twitter followers increase. This has led to even more of a community feel – particularly on Facebook – as parents in HRM are commenting on articles, answering questions posted by other parents and sharing their thoughts on parenting issues. I know that many people also get in touch with the owners of the site to ask for advice and that they do everything they can to provide information or connect parents with others who can help.
So as we begin 2013, I want to give a huge shout out to Sean, Sarah and Meghan for all of the great work they are doing in helping to support the parents of Halifax. I truly appreciate the opportunity to contribute to your content but even more than that, I thank you for everything that I have learned and benefitted from just by tuning in to the site. You are doing an amazing job and we, the parents of Halifax, appreciate it so much. Keep up the great work and cheers to an incredible 2013.
