CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
A Public Art Competition for the Prospect Road Community Centre
Submission deadline Extended: 4:00pm January 29th, 2010

The Halifax Regional Municipality’s Department of Cultural Affairs, in conjunction with the Steering Committee of the Prospect Road Community Centre are seeking proposals that possess strong visual presence and community engagement to animate the Prospect Community Centre, currently under construction.

The Public Art Policy
HRM’s Public Art Policy states that public art is to be included as a component of any new municipal construction project.

Although the Prospect Community Centre budget planning process predates the passing of the Public Art Policy (September 2008), the intent of this Request for Proposals is to provide public art as a component of the construction process, reflecting the spirit of the policy.
