Canada Post countered with an offer of an 11.5% wage increase over four years and pension protections, though they stress the need for more flexible delivery models to address financial challenges.

This standoff recalls the 2018 rotating strikes, which also centered on wages, job security, and working conditions. Those strikes led to widespread delivery delays, especially during the holiday season, and ultimately ended with federal back-to-work legislation.

Given the peak season’s pressure, both sides remain at the table, recognizing that government intervention may reoccur if no agreement is reached.
