May 17-23 marks Canada Road Safety Week 2016, a national campaign that aims to make Canada’s roads the safest in the world.
During Canada Road Safety Week, Halifax Regional Police urges all road users to focus on safe driving practices and refrain from behaviours that put drivers, passengers, pedestrians and other vulnerable road users most at risk.
Please choose safe behaviours when travelling on our roadways:
These safe practices are important every day of the year, not just during this special initiative. Shared care and responsibility between all road users will save lives and reduce injuries on our roadways.
Canada Road Safety Week is sponsored by the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP) and Transport Canada and is part of Canada’s Road Safety Strategy 2025, which has a goal of making Canada’s roads the safest in the world by 2025.
