The official launch party for the Canadian Surf Film Festival (CSFF) will take place this Saturday (Sept. 18) at 4:00 p.m. at Victor’s Restaurant in Downtown Halifax.
The party will feature a highlight reel of the festival’s film program as well as program brochures listing all official CSFF film selections and events.
Festival organizers will also be hosting a panel with critically-acclaimed filmmakers Eva Madden and Yassine Ouhilal, who will be discussing their experiences creating winter surf films in frigid climates. These two are on the cutting edge of Canadian surf filmmaking.
The party will follow a screening of Madden’s short film on winter surfing in Nova Scotia titled “Winter Wave Riders”, which will be screened during the Atlantic Film Festival’s Atlantic Shorts program at 2 p.m. at the Park Lane Theatres.
Those planning to attend the festival are encouraged to view Madden’s film then visit Victor’s (located inside the Park Lane Mall) for the launch party and panel.
