Carrot Community Co-Op is almost here

The Carrot Community Co-OP is is a major step closer to reality today with the acquisition of a Gottingen St  storefront. The Co-op has purchased 2063 Gottingen St across from Squiggle Park at Falkland and will take possession of the space in March 2014.

This will be a Co-operative owned by the members and a full range of dry goods , from snacks to toiletries as well as a full compliment of fresh goods fish, meat, fruits, vegetables & bakery. It will serve as a beacon for the community  offering volunteer opportunity, healthy food choices and education, support other local businesses and give other small businesses a chance to sell product as well as provide jobs n the community. It has been since the 80s that this neighbourhood has had a grocery store, and the vibrant sense of community it is a perfect marriage, of need and support.
