Charges after armed robbery at Halifax Irving

HRP release:

On October 19 at approximately 3:35 a.m., officers responded to a report of robbery that occurred at the Irving gas station, located at 5450 Inglis Street in Halifax.

Staff reported that a man entered the store, demanded money and cigarettes and threatened staff and customers with a gun. The man then fled on foot with a quantity of money and cigarettes. Staff and customers were not physically injured.

At approximately 3:45 a.m., officers located and arrested the suspect.

Nicholas Patrick Alfoldy, 19, appeared in Halifax provincial court today to face charges of:

  • Robbery
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
