Charges after last week’s Dartmouth NSLC break and enter

Police have charged a man in relation to a break and enter that occurred last week in Dartmouth.

At approximately 11:15 p.m. on April 20, police responded to a break and enter at the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission at 7 Braemar Drive. A man broke a window, stole merchandise and fled the area in a vehicle.

At approximately 3 a.m. on April 21, officers located the suspect vehicle at a gas station in the 2900 block of Waverly Road. The vehicle had been reported stolen from a residence in Dartmouth on April 14. Officers arrested the driver and passenger without incident. The passenger was released without charges a short time later.

Steven James Maloney, 30, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court today to face charges of:

  • Break and enter
  • Possession of a stolen motor vehicle
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Fail to comply with conditions of a release order
