Charges after sexual assault at liquor store

RCMP release:

Shelburne RCMP has charged a man with sexual assault after an incident in Shelburne.

On September 25, 2023, Shelburne RCMP received a report of an incident having occurred at a liquor store in Shelburne. RCMP officers learned that a 59-year-old man had entered the store, assaulted an employee by grabbing her hair and pulling her towards him, in a sexually suggestive manner, while making sexually inappropriate comments.

Robert Stephen Blakeney, age 59, of Shelburne, was arrested and has been charged with Sexual Assault. Blakeney was released on conditions and will appear in Shelburne Provincial Court on December 14, 2023 at 9:30 a.m.
