Charges after weapons incident at Dartmouth bridge terminal

Police have charged a man in relation to a weapons incident in Dartmouth yesterday.

At approximately 4 p.m. police responded to a report of a man with what appeared to be a firearm in the Halifax Transit Bridge Terminal on Nantucket Avenue. Officers located the man inside the terminal and arrested him without incident. Officers seized a replica handgun.

A 19-year-old man has is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, use of an imitation firearm and public mischief.
