Charges laid after same gas station robbed twice

Investigators with the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section have laid charges in connection with two robberies last week in Dartmouth.
 
On February 5 at 9:46 p.m., police responded to a robbery at the Petro Canada service station located at 240 Victoria Road. A man entered the store, pushed the cashier and grabbed cash from the register. The staff member wasn’t injured and the suspect fled the area on foot. On February 6 at 6:48 a.m., police responded to another robbery at the same Petro Canada service station. Staff reported a man had entered the store, produced a knife and demanded cash. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
 
On February 10 at approximately 1:45 p.m., officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Unit arrested 31-year-old Jason Omar Downey without incident in Dartmouth. He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to face charges of possession of a weapon and two counts of robbery.
