Charges laid in graffiti incident in Dartmouth


Police have charged a man with mischief after anti-China messages were discovered along one of the busiest streets in Dartmouth.

One man faces charges in connection with recent graffiti in Dartmouth.

Earlier this week, concerns over graffiti in the area of Wyse Road and
Nantucket Avenue were raised. Immediate steps were taken to have the
markings removed. An investigation into this incident was launched on
April 1 and as a result 47-year-old John Richard MacNeil of Dartmouth
was arrested on April 8 and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on
May 25 charged with mischief.

Spreading graffiti is a crime, and its presence can impact our
community’s reputation, property values, and citizens’ sense of
pride and safety. If you observe someone spreading graffiti in HRM, call
