Charges Laid in Jail Assault

From HRPD:

Officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP General Investigation Section have laid charges in connection with an incident at the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility earlier this month.

The incident between two inmates occurred on July 1 at 8:45 p.m. and resulted in a 28-year-old man being taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. As a result of the investigation, charges were laid yesterday.

Twenty-one-year-old Adam Joseph Leblanc is charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on July 27 to answer to these charges.
