Charges Laid in Pizza Shop Robbery – Halifax

A woman has been arrested and charged following a robbery earlier this week in Halifax.

On April 12 at 12:55 a.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery at Velos Pizza at 6100 Almon Street. A woman entered the store, produced a knife and demanded cash from the store employee. She fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured during the robbery. A K-9 unit conducted a track but the suspect could not be located.

A suspect was identified at the time of the robbery, and on April 13 at approximately 3:15 a.m., patrol officers arrested 29-year-old Brittany Joan Martin without incident at an address in the 300 block of Herring Cove Road. She was held in custody overnight and appeared in Halifax Provincial Court yesterday to face one count of robbery.
