Charges Laid in Serious Collision

Halifax Regional Police has charged a man following a serious collision that occurred in Halifax on September 20.
 
Shortly before 7 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a collision involving four vehicles on the Bedford Highway in the area of Main Avenue. As a result of this collision, four men and two women were taken to hospital for treatment of injuries.
 
The investigation revealed that a pickup truck was travelling at a high rate of speed outbound in the middle lane of the Bedford Highway when the 45-year-old male driver lost control and collided with three vehicles travelling inbound. Last night, officers arrested the 45-year-old Halifax man at police headquarters and charged him with criminal negligence causing bodily harm and dangerous operation of motor vehicle causing bodily harm. He has been released from custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on November 19.
